"For me, feminism is not just taking my clothes off and showing that I have tits and ass, but to say and do what I want. Why can't I say 'son of a bitch' as a woman? Why am I not allowed to hand out the packs as a woman? Why is there a distinction made? I've done things in my life that some men haven't even thought about," says LIZ - and you believe her immediately.

She was born in 1998 in Frankfurt's Ostend district. Her parents separated at an early age, which is why she grew up with her mother for the first few years - and got music from her in the cradle. "Others say that, but it was really like that for me," says LIZ. "During my birth, songs by Moses Pelham were playing, my mother was a huge fan of Azad and on my 12th birthday she dumped me. "I didn't always understand everything right away, but rap gave me self-confidence even then because I realised that there are people who feel the same way I do." Because LIZ's childhood and youth is anything but easy. With the separation of her parents always in the back of her mind, she begins to suffer from depression and eventually ends up in a psychiatric ward.

"Even though you might not think so, it was a good time," LIZ recalls. "I went to therapy and learned a lot about myself." And yet, after her release, she falls out with her mother, moves in with her father for a while and lives with him in his much too small one-room flat, before finally the streets of Offenbach become her new home for a while.

In 2020, she moves to the Kung Fu Studios for her first professional recordings, which are to become her second home. In 2021 she drops her first mixtape called "Bleibe Echt": the tracks of the 23-year-old are rough and unfiltered, antisocial and aggressive, energetic and honest. The productions come from FNSHRS (Sido, Ufo361 & Shirin David), Lucry (Apache207, Miami Yacine & Capital Bra), JK & Nexxus (KMN) and Goldfinger (GRiNGO, AK AusserKontrolle & 6ix9ine), among others.When LIZ entered the scene with the tape, it was tantamount to an anarchistic performance artwork that was anything but pleasing. LIZ and her music are loud, uncomfortable, rambunctious and untamable. It earned her the title "Deutschrap's red pen", which cuts out and corrects everything that is not needed in the scene. And people loved it. It was a perfect imperfect premiere of an artist who is uncompromisingly herself and yet allows room for development. Her debut album "Mona Liza", now due out in spring 2022, is proof of that. And of course it will be released in winter. It's still robber music, you know!
