Laureen Kornemann studied communication and media studies in Leipzig and completed her Master's degree at the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on the sexism debate. After internships in the fields of editing and public relations, her professional career led her to the Berlin independent label/publishing house Sinnbus, to the Initiative Musik as a project manager and finally to the VUT, where she is first responsible for member support and since October 2018 for public relations as well as for the VUT's own network for strengthening diversity and equality in the music industry (VUT Vielfalt).

Laureen is also involved in the organisation of two festivals on a voluntary basis and is a jury member for the Initiative Musik's artist promotion programme.
