LIV ALMA is the experimental pop project of Johanna Klein, a musician living in Cologne and Berlin. The music moves between electronic pop, noise and avant-garde. With fragile vocals, electric guitar, synthesizers and sound-manipulated samples, she creates loop-like songs that sometimes sound light and sometimes weird. In 2022, she produced her debut album of the same name in close collaboration with Cologne-based drummer and producer Jan Philipp. The album was released digitally and on vinyl under the Papercup Records label in early 2023 and has since received a lot of positive media attention. With their refreshingly new sound of delicate vocals, rough beats and improvised outbursts, they were ultimately nominated for the 2023 German Record Critics' Award.
