Head of the Department for Environment, Climate and Real Estate of the City of Cologne

William Wolfgramm studied geography in Bonn and then worked in the department for water management and environmental protection at the Düsseldorf district government. District President Anne Lütkes made him office manager and deputy press spokesperson. In 2015, he moved to Cologne to Henriette Reker's office as mayor, which he took over in 2018.Since 1 September 2021, he has headed the newly created Department for the Environment, Climate and Real Estate of the City of Cologne.

His department, which employs around 1,500 people, includes the Office of Real Estate, Surveying and Cadastre, the Environmental and Consumer Protection Office, the Office for Landscape Conservation and Green Spaces, the Climate Protection Coordination Office and the staff unit of the waste management company AWB. Core topics include the development of a strategy for a climate-neutral Cologne by 2035 and the establishment of a sustainable land policy.
