Nilgün Öz
Inspired by Noam Chomsky, she began studying linguistics at the University of Potsdam after graduating from high school. She later transferred to the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, where she studied Public Management, a business management course with a focus on NGOs and NPOs, which she completed in 2002 with a degree in business administration. She financed her studies through bar and bouncer jobs in the Berlin nightlife of the 90s, a time full of unique opportunities that created self-organized spaces for art, culture and personal development, and gained her first professional experience in the music and event industry.
In 2002, she joined Universal Music as Event Manager in Corporate Communications, where she worked for 16 years. In 2018, she switched to the NGO world and took on management positions at Musik Bewegt gGmbH and Yes!Wecancer, a digital self-help group for cancer patients. After this time, she qualified as a CSR manager and returned to the music industry; since February 2023, she has been responsible for Corporate Social Responsibility at Universal Music in addition to the Events division.
Nilgün Öz is looking forward to sharing her insights at c/o pop and discussing corporate responsibility for the common good.
