Mirjam Tomše has been the City of Cologne's Disability Officer since 2021. She lives in Cologne and is a qualified social pedagogue and social worker. One of her most important goals is to make the city of Cologne fully and equally accessible as a social and cultural environment for people with disabilities. In order to enable such participation, access at various levels must be constantly checked for barriers and needs – and adapted. People with disabilities must be involved in planning and realisation as experts with their knowledge so that barriers can actually be removed.
