Katja Sigutina was born in Ukraine in 1992. As a so-called contingent refugee, she emigrated to Germany with her family two years later. After stages in the music and theatre industry, she has been working for the Dialogue Perspectives programme of the Leo Baeck Foundation in Berlin since 2020.
Previously, she studied communication, media and cultural studies in Cologne, Alicante and Düsseldorf. For the past 10 years, she has been involved on a voluntary basis in the association "TaMaR Germany e.V.", of which she was chairperson from 2018 to 2021. In her work, Katja Sigutina focuses on the topics of post-national socialist society, contemporary Jewish realities in Germany and plural society.
