Opening c/o pop xoxo (Talk)

Ein Festival und eine Convention dieser Tage unter den gegebenen Bedingungen zu starten, ist ein komplexes Unterfangen. Sich stetig ändernde Bedingungen im Zuge der Corona-Pandemie zwingen Veranstaltungen wie die unsrige ins Netz und stellen die so wichtige Verbindung von Künstler*innen und dem für sie so wichtigen Publikum auf eine harte Belastungsprobe. Wie damit aktuell, aber auch noch für die nähere Zukunft umzugehen sein wird, ist eine der zentralen Fragen, die sich unsere Branche stellt. Aber stellen wir diese Frage auch richtig? Wäre es nicht auch an der Zeit, die Zukunft der Musik- und Kulturbranche mit der ebenfalls existenziellen Frage nach nachhaltigen und zukunftsfähigen Modellen unseres Lebens- und Arbeitsalltags zu verbinden? Wäre nicht gerade jetzt ein guter Zeitpunkt dafür? Beim heutigen Eröffnungstalk zu c/o pop xoxo wagen wir einen Ausblick.

Leonie Bremer

Leonie Bremer

Leonie Bremer is 23 years old and Fridays for Future activist. Her responsibilities are mainly press work and movement strategy. Besides that she leads projects to strengthen the movement of Fridays for Future in the Global South. She is currently studying Renewable Energy in her Master's at the TH Köln. She also works in a start-up for renewable energy.

Jacob Sylvester Bilabel

Jacob Sylvester Bilabel

Jacob Sylvester Bilabel is founder of the pan-European Green Music Initiative (GMI), an independent cross industry think-tank to inspire people in the music festival and events industry to run their operations greener and smarter. GMI acts as cross sectoral innovation and research agency for Europe's music and entertainment industry. As project leader of the EE MUSIC project, he was responsible for a series of more than 60 workshops which took place in 27 European countries to encourage and equip festivals, clubs and venues with key knowledge and tools to begin understanding and improving energy efficiency. In 2018 he got appointed as part of a research consortium developing off grid hydrogen fuel cells for festivals, events and tv productions. Both projects received funding for European Commission’s research and innovation programs. Since summer 2020 he is leading the Aktionsnetzwerk Nachhaltigkeit, a sustainability and innovation network for the cultural sector funded by the Federal Government and its Commission for Culture and Media (BKM).

Bianca Hauda

Bianca Hauda

Bianca Hauda is a radio and television presenter. After 10 years of working at 1LIVE Plan B and 1LIVE Talk, she is now active for ARTE in terms of pop culture and hosts the programme TWIST. On her travels she meets artists and cultural workers from all over Europe every week. Since this year she has also been making music herself with her duo "studïo bleu". The current single is called "Glace à l'eau".

Ralph Christoph

Ralph Christoph

Ralph Christoph is a Founding member of the c/o pop festival in Cologne. The former journalist and editor (StadtRevue, SPEX) was the Program director for the c/o pop festival until 2006. Since then is in charge of the international relationships and the strategic direction. From 2011-13 he was the MD for the C'n'B Convention, since 2014 he is the Head of program for the c/o pop Convention. He is also Program director for the 2013 founded festival »INTERACTIVE Cologne«. He initiated and operated several international projects e.g. in India, China and Colombia.
