Maya Consuelo Sternel

Musikerin, Produzentin, Sound Artist

Maya Consuelo Sternel plays theremin and is a producer and sound artist from Berlin. Under her stage name Donna Maya she releases her music, which ranges from experimental electronics to underground techno. She writes film music for the film "Kurz und schmerzlos" by Fatih Akin, among others, and composes turntable concerts for Kammerphilharmonie and DJ. After receiving her Audio Engineer degree, she moved to New York and worked as an Engineer Assistant at Unique Recording in Times Square. After completing her Master's degree in Systematic Musicology and American Studies, she founded UPSTART Electronic Music Education. She has a teaching position for Pop Producing: Electronic Music Production at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and is author of the book "Beat Programmierung" (quickstart Verlag).
