Veranstalter & Geschäftsführer | KNUST, LOGO & Stellwerk Hamburg
Karsten Schölermann (born 1960) was initially a musician in the early 1980s - later he studied business administration and graduated. He has been running Hamburg's "KNUST" since 1983. In 2012, he was a founding member of the Federal Association for Music Venues in Germany, the LiveMusikKommission e.V. (LiveKomm ) as well as the Hamburg Club Foundation. Until 2020, he served on the association's executive board, but continues to head the policy working group within LiveKomm. Since March 2021, he has now been the first chairman of the Bundestiftung LiveKultur. His Hamburg activities also include the events "Rockspektakel" (Rathausmarkt) and "Hafenrock" (Hafengeburtstag) - both of which have been part of the fixed rock music program in the Hanseatic city for more than 20 years and operate without subsidies or admission fees. Together with his event partner Eberhard Gugel, he has been co-owner of LOGO since 1994 and has also taken over "pro bono" the management of the Hamburg jazz and hip-hop club "Stellwerk", which is in danger of going out of business, since January 2015. The range of events is supplemented by about a dozen running events. A track and field athlete for many years, his responsibilities since 1990 have included the 10-kilometer run around the Alster and the Hamburg half marathon - both of which are among the largest of their kind in Germany.
