In 2015, singer Frederik Rabe, guitarist Finn Schwieters, bassist Luca Göttner, keyboardist Jonathan Wischniowski and drummer Finn Thomas founded Giant Rooks. The Giant Rooks' "we've achieved" list has grown impressively since then: they've won a 1LIVE crown, seven-figure monthly listener numbers on Spotify, sold-out concerts from Rome to Paris to Manchester. In Germany, they're already filling venues that other artists* wouldn't put on their tour schedule until 15 years into their careers. Giant Rooks seem to be selling it out off the cuff with just three released EPs and a debut album. Giant Rooks are arguably the most promising band to come out of Germany in a long time. They took their time with their debut. The band has played more than 350 shows in the last few years. Opportunities enough to invent the Giant Rooks sound. After Giant Rooks released their internationally acclaimed debut album last year, which entered the German album charts at #3, they now close the "Rookery" circle with an EP full of beautifully reinterpreted stripped down versions. Rookery Live Tapes is the name of the EP, which will be released on June 18.
