Rike van Kleef

Rike van Kleef (*1995) is a generalist with a clear compass and a versatile traveler: she is a moderator, speaker, tour & stage manager, activist, founder, organizer, co-chairwoman of fæmm and an integral part of the Audiolith booking team. With her accumulated knowledge from theory and practice, she is passionate about making the event, cultural and creative industries more diverse, gender- and climate-friendly.

In 2022, she published the study "Who sets the tone here? On the representation of gender on German entertainment music festival stages." was written. The thesis is one of the first studies on this topic in the German-speaking world and was nominated for the FHP Gender Prize. In 2023, Rike was honored with the International Music Journalism Award in the category "Best Work Of Music Journalism, Under 30".

The author is currently in ongoing research for her debut non-fiction book, which will be published in March 2025. The queer German-Dutch woman lives in Berlin.
