Jörg Heidemann is Managing Director of the Association of Independent Music Entrepreneurs (VUT e.V.), which represents the interests of independent entrepreneurs in the German music industry. Before graduating with a degree in psychology from the University of Trier, he worked in record shops to finance his studies. He was Head of Export at EFA Medien GmbH and Head of Export Universal Music Germany and subsequently co-owner and managing director of the distribution company MDM -Mutualism: distribution & more. Following MDM's insolvency, he started as a freelance project manager at VUT in 2010 and took over as Managing Director in 2014. He also sits on the advisory board of the German Jazz Award and Musicboard Berlin and is a member of the BVMI Charts and Marketing Committee. He is also a member of the Impala Management Board and WIN Director. Jörg Heidemann has always been a passionate music listener and collector.
